Although kids books, these are informative reading for all levels. The whole set was 26, so this is a large subset. Note that each book covers two (2) animals. The front cover in yellow, for example, of book # 1, 'Chipmunks', when turned over, shows 'Beavers' in blue. There are 48 pages (1-48) for Beavers and the second half, 48 pages (also numbered 1-48), for Beavers. Each has its own index and as shown in the images, each animal has a page of 'facts in brief' (summary) and a 'have you ever wondered' question page with interesting points with page numbers on where to find the answer. The books are profusely illustrated with color photos and sketches. The books were published in 1996 (revised) by Grolier are in giftworthy new condition, meaning very tight and bright with no scratches on glossy covers. They can be read by a teacher/parent or by student, depending on reading level which I would place at approximately 4th or 5th grade level. Only book # 1 has 3 small page corner creases not from reading but from handling.
