Thought provoking movie from the Scientologists, who, with their founder, L Hubbard, are anti-psychiatry. But it is true that most of the industry is based on theory more than fact. That has enabled significant quackery since its inception and funding sources, like governments, seem to buy into the claims probably because practitioners, as agents for the pharma industry, have extensive lobbying to influence average IQ politicians.. The movie suggests practitioners are constantly seeking a scientific basis, brain chemical imbalances, for example, as treatment rationales. (Exactly what is a brain chemical imbalance??). They are quite critical of the DSM which now has over 300 mental maladies, the point being, that eveyone probably qualifies for at least one of the categories and is therefore mentally off(which, of course, tht these problems require treatmentsa nd meds, funded by insurance).

dvd and booklet are like-new and worthwhile watching..
